Victims do not need to report the crime or provide citizenship, residency, or insurance status to receive a free medical forensic exam. An interpreter can be provided by phone if needed.

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Exam

If you would like to report a victim within 30 days of an assault, please refer the individual to MedStar Washington Hospital Center’s Emergency Department. If you have any questions, need assistance, or would like to speak with someone, please call the DC Victim Hotline at 1-844-4HELPDC.

Sexual Assault (SANE) Exam

If you would like to report a victim within 96 hours of an assault, please call the DC SANE Provider Hotline at 1-866-977-7263 to speak with an advocate to coordinate support for the victim (Please note: this number is ONLY for healthcare professionals and members of law enforcement.).
